Caring for your lashes in Delaware fall and winter

Cold wind, dry heat and scarves can be rough on lash extensions. How to keep your set full through a Delaware winter.

Lash tools, eye patches and tweezers on a pink surface

Delaware winters are not brutal, but the mix of cold wind outside and dry heat inside does affect your lashes. A few habits keep your extensions looking good until spring.

Dry indoor heat

Forced air heat dries out your skin and your natural lashes. Dry lashes can get brittle. A humidifier in your bedroom helps your skin and your lashes.

Watery eyes from the cold

Cold wind makes eyes water. Gently blot with a clean tissue instead of rubbing. Rubbing pulls extensions loose.

Scarves, hats and hoods

Fuzzy scarves and knit hats can snag lashes. Pull them on carefully and keep chunky knits away from your face.

Holiday season

Parties, photos and family visits pack the calendar from Thanksgiving to New Year's. Book your fills early, because December fills up fast.

Keep cleaning them

It is tempting to skip cleaning when it is cold, but oil and buildup still collect on your lashes. Clean them a few times a week with a lash safe cleanser and brush them every morning.
